Early Life & Education

William Troost-Ekong’s early life sounds a little bit complicated but I will try my best to explain it very well to you. Firstly, you should know that Ekong’s father was a Nigerian but got married to a Dutch making Ekong a Nigerian by nationality since he should follow that of his father. It’s also acceptable if he chooses to follow the nationality of his mother.

How his father met up with his mother is something I find hard to comprehend because I have not seen a Nigerian and someone from Netherland got married before. Anyways, also know that his parents resided in Haarlem, Netherlands where he was given birth to.

He grew up in Netherlands to some extent because he had to travel to England for his secondary school education where he attended Hockerill Anglo-European College, Bishop Stortford.

Throughout William Troost-Ekong’s career as a footballer, he has never been so happy like the day when he joined the Nigerian national team. According to him, it was a very big thing for him and he appreciated Nigerians for welcoming him into their national team.
