Virginia Tech Players Shine During Senior Bowl Week
Several Virginia Tech football players made a strong impression at the Senior Bowl, taking a significant step toward the 2025 NFL Draft. Held in Mobile, Alabama, the event provided a platform for draft hopefuls to showcase their skills before the upcoming NFL Combine and the draft in Green Bay this April.
The Hokies had five representatives: wide receivers Jaylin Lane and Da’Quan Felton, running back Bhayshul Tuten, defensive lineman Aeneas Peebles, and cornerback Dorian Strong. Each player used the week to highlight their talents, with some capping off solid performances in Saturday’s game.
Standout Performances from Virginia Tech Players
Among the Hokies, Lane stood out the most, drawing praise for his speed, route-running ability, and reliable hands. His performance in one-on-one drills was particularly impressive, earning recognition from analysts like Daniel Jeremiah on the NFL Network.
Felton also made an impact, hauling in a fourth-quarter touchdown pass from Louisville quarterback Tyler Shough. Meanwhile, Tuten had a notable reception, despite a brief juggle before securing the ball.
On the defensive side, Peebles displayed quickness off the line, registering a tackle for loss, while Strong demonstrated his coverage skills in one-on-one drills. Strong, who had the option to declare for the draft last year, opted to return to Virginia Tech, hoping to improve his stock further.
Looking Ahead to the Draft
With the Senior Bowl behind them, these players now turn their attention to the NFL Combine in Indianapolis later this month. Initially projected as late-round picks, some Hokies—particularly Strong—could climb the draft boards based on their recent performances.
