Ian Rapoport: Packers a Logical Destination for Micah Parsons
During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, NFL insider Ian Rapoport weighed in on the swirling rumors about a potential trade involving Cowboys star pass-rusher Micah Parsons. Referencing a claim by internet personality Rickey Scoop that the Green Bay Packers had made an offer, Rapoport clarified that acquiring Parsons would require a massive haul—comparable to the Khalil Mack trade in 2018, which involved two first-round picks and additional draft maneuvering.
Despite the buzz, Rapoport emphasized that Dallas hasn’t received any official offers, noting that a proposal only becomes official when both sides are ready to say yes. He hinted at the fluid nature of NFL trade talk, recalling how DK Metcalf was considered untouchable—until he wasn’t.
Rapoport sees Green Bay as a plausible destination for Parsons, citing their financial flexibility and strong roster. “That’s the kind of team Micah would end up with if he were traded,” he said. The Packers have already locked in most of their expected contract extensions for the year, with linebacker Quay Walker being the notable exception. That leaves players like Rasheed Walker, Christian Watson, and Romeo Doubs in uncertain territory as their deals near expiration.
Beyond the trade chatter, there are personal ties between Parsons and the Packers. He shares an agent—David Mulugheta—with quarterback Jordan Love, and the two have vacationed together in Dubai. Love has also appeared on Parsons’ podcast, suggesting a friendly rapport. Mulugheta represents several other Packers players, including Xavier McKinney, Isaiah Simmons, Malik Willis, and Kingsley Enagbare, further strengthening the connection.
