Gladbach Eyes Holstein Kiel Duo to Reinforce Attack…

Mönchengladbach, Germany — August 12, 2025

Borussia Mönchengladbach is reportedly setting its sights on two standout strikers from Holstein Kiel as part of a strategic push to strengthen its attacking options ahead of the 2025/26 Bundesliga season.

Sources close to the club suggest that manager Gerardo Seoane is keen to inject fresh energy into the front line following a season marked by inconsistency in front of goal. The two forwards—whose names have not yet been officially disclosed—played pivotal roles in Kiel’s impressive campaign last season, helping the club secure promotion to the Bundesliga.

Gladbach’s interest comes amid growing uncertainty around the future of veteran striker Alassane Pléa, who has been linked with a move to Ligue 1 side Lille. With Pléa’s exit clause set to expire soon, the club is preparing for a potential reshuffle in its attacking ranks.

Holstein Kiel, meanwhile, may face a tough decision as they look to retain key players for their top-flight return. Both strikers are under contract, but Gladbach’s financial leverage and Bundesliga pedigree could prove persuasive.

The Foals have already made several moves this summer, including the loan departure of Winsley Boteli to Swiss side Sion. Adding proven goal scorers from Kiel could be the final piece in Seoane’s tactical puzzle as the club aims to climb back into European contention.

Negotiations are believed to be ongoing, with further developments expected in the coming days.
