Denver Nuggets Final Injury Update Against OKC Thunder in Game 1 Seems Unexpected…

The Denver Nuggets hit the road Monday night to take on the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 1 of their second-round playoff matchup.

Denver enters the game riding the momentum of a hard-fought Game 7 win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday. Meanwhile, Oklahoma City comes in well-rested after sweeping the Memphis Grizzlies in dominant fashion in their first-round series.

Although the Thunder have the advantage of extra rest, the Nuggets are fueled by their recent victory and will aim to gain an early edge in the series.

This series is expected to highlight two MVP frontrunners—Nikola Jokic of the Nuggets and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Thunder—but both teams will rely heavily on contributions from their supporting cast.

In terms of injuries, Denver has mostly good news. Their injury report is clean aside from DaRon Holmes II, who will miss the rest of the season. Importantly, Russell Westbrook and Michael Porter Jr. are both available for Game 1 after dealing with injuries in the first round. Westbrook had missed Game 4 with a foot issue but returned to help close out the series, while Porter Jr. played through a shoulder injury despite some struggles.

On the Thunder’s side, Nikola Topic remains out, but Ousmane Dieng is set to return after missing the last 19 games.

Game 1 tips off at 9:30 p.m. EST on TNT.
