Transfer News: Crvena Zvezda Reshapes Roster for EuroLeague Push
BELGRADE — Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet has officially announced a significant shift in its backcourt rotation, confirming that American guard Devonte’ Graham has left the club by mutual agreement. The departure comes as the Serbian powerhouse welcomes a vital reinforcement to its frontcourt with the long-awaited return of center Joel Bolomboy.
Graham and Zvezda Part Ways
The stint of former NBA standout Devonte’ Graham in Belgrade has come to an end after just a few months. The club confirmed that the two parties reached a mutual understanding to terminate the contract, with no further financial obligations on the part of the club.
Graham, who arrived last summer with high expectations following a prolific career with the Charlotte Hornets and New Orleans Pelicans, struggled to find his rhythm in the European game. After an early-season injury delay, he averaged 3.0 points and 1.1 assists across seven EuroLeague appearances. His departure provides Zvezda with additional flexibility in its roster as the team enters the final stretch of the regular season.
Bolomboy Bolsters the Interior
While the backcourt sees a departure, the “Red-and-Whites” receive a massive psychological and tactical boost in the paint. Center Joel Bolomboy has officially returned to the active rotation after a grueling 10-month recovery from a severe Lisfranc (midfoot) injury sustained last March.
Bolomboy made his initial comeback in a domestic ABA League clash against Zadar in late January and has since been reintegrated into the EuroLeague roster. Head coach Saša Obradović praised the center’s resilience, noting that his rim protection and veteran presence are “essential” for the team’s defensive identity.
The Road Ahead
The roster changes come at a pivotal moment. Crvena Zvezda currently sits in the thick of the EuroLeague play-in race, sporting a 15–10 record after 25 rounds. With Graham’s exit and Bolomboy’s return, the rotation is expected to lean more heavily on the surging Jordan Nwora and Codi Miller-McIntyre for playmaking, while Bolomboy anchors a frontcourt that recently saw strong performances from Ebuka Izundu.
Zvezda’s next major test comes tonight against Budućnost VOLI in the ABA League, followed by a high-stakes EuroLeague trip to Piraeus to face Olympiacos on February 12.
