Confirmed: Paxten Aaronson Joins Colorado Rapids in €8.5m Deal
Eintracht Frankfurt have officially finalized the transfer of Paxten Aaronson to MLS side Colorado Rapids. The 21-year-old forward bids farewell to the Bundesliga after head coach Dino Toppmöller offered a heartfelt send-off during a recent press conference, expressing disappointment at losing a promising talent.
Although Aaronson was initially part of Frankfurt’s plans for the upcoming season, fierce competition in midfield meant the club couldn’t guarantee him sufficient minutes. Before departing, the New Jersey native marked a milestone by scoring his first goal for Eintracht—coming off the bench to net the final strike in a 5–0 DFB Pokal victory over FV Engers.
According to Sport Bild, the deal includes a €7 million base fee, with an additional €1.5 million in performance-related bonuses. Aaronson returns to Major League Soccer after two and a half years in Europe, having joined Frankfurt from Philadelphia Union for €4.7 million in early 2023.
