JUST IN: Buffalo Bills GM Clears the Air on Potential Trade for Ravens TE Mark Andrews Amid Uncertain Future in Baltimore
With rumors swirling around a possible trade between the Baltimore Ravens and the Buffalo Bills involving star tight end Mark Andrews, Buffalo’s general manager has stepped in to address the speculation head-on.
As Andrews heads into the final year of his current deal with the Ravens, questions surrounding his future in Baltimore have intensified. Despite his three Pro Bowl selections and a first-team All-Pro honor, Andrews’ postseason struggles and the emergence of younger tight ends like Isaiah Likely and Charlie Kolar have left his long-term place with the team in doubt.
That uncertainty sparked trade chatter, with the Bills quickly being mentioned as a potential suitor. Buffalo, after all, has been seeking a dynamic playmaker to add to their offensive arsenal, especially in the tight end position to complement Dalton Kincaid and help Josh Allen in the passing game.
However, when asked directly about the possibility of acquiring Andrews, Bills GM Brandon Beane downplayed the reports.
“There’s nothing to those rumors,” Beane told reporters. “Mark Andrews is a great player, no doubt about that, but we haven’t had any conversations with Baltimore about a trade. Sometimes these things just take on a life of their own.”
Beane emphasized his confidence in the team’s current roster, particularly in the tight end room.
“We believe in the guys we have. We like the group and think there’s still plenty of upside with them. We’re always evaluating talent, but that doesn’t mean we’re actively making moves.”
Meanwhile, over in Baltimore, GM Eric DeCosta has also remained non-committal about Andrews’ future. While he praised Andrews for being a “warrior” and one of the team’s most productive offensive weapons, he stopped short of guaranteeing a long-term extension, especially with younger talent pushing for more snaps.
Mark Andrews, 28, holds franchise records for touchdowns and ranks second all-time in receiving yards for the Ravens. Yet his playoff performance has left fans and analysts divided, especially after a critical fumble and key dropped two-point conversion in this year’s loss to the Bills — the very team now rumored to be interested in him.
Though the Bills have cleared the air for now, the situation is far from settled. With the NFL Draft approaching and contract talks looming, all eyes remain on Baltimore and what they decide to do with their star tight end. Whether Andrews finishes his career as a Raven or ends up wearing a different jersey next season remains one of the offseason’s biggest questions.
