JUST IN: Tennessee Titans GM Mike Borgonzi is Turning the Team’s Biggest Flaw into Their Greatest Weapon.

Let’s get straight to the point. Pro Football Focus, through analyst Zoltán Buday, provided a candid breakdown of the Tennessee Titans’ offensive line in 2024.

Thanks to strong performances from rookie left tackle JC Latham and a late-season surge from 2023 first-round pick Peter Skoronski, the Titans managed to improve from being the league’s worst offensive line. However, they still have a long way to go before being considered even an average unit.

From Week 10 onward, Skoronski posted an impressive 85.4 PFF pass-blocking grade, the highest among all NFL guards during that stretch. Over 349 snaps, he surrendered just eight pressures. Latham, on the other hand, started strong but hit the infamous rookie wall in the latter half of the season. Up until Week 11, he earned a respectable 74.2 PFF pass-blocking grade, ranking 21st among left tackles.

Despite these improvements, the Titans still finished with the fifth-lowest offensive line grade in the league. Recognizing the urgency, newly appointed general manager Mike Borgonzi wasted no time in free agency. He secured former Pittsburgh Steelers tackle Dan Moore Jr. with a four-year, $82 million deal, per Spotrac. Although Moore ranked just 42nd among PFF’s top performers at the position, his experience 66 regular-season starts and three playoff games makes him a valuable addition.

The team’s approach to its offensive line doesn’t stop there. Head coach Brian Callahan even hinted at a potential position shift for Latham at the NFL Combine, suggesting that flexibility could be key in shaping the best possible tackle duo.

Perhaps the most impactful signing, however, was the acquisition of veteran guard Kevin Zeitler. The seasoned lineman, now on his sixth NFL team, is expected to bring immediate stability to the right guard position under the guidance of offensive line coach Bill Callahan. Additionally, the Titans picked up versatile lineman Blake Hance from the Jaguars, who will serve as a swing backup.

With the No. 1 overall pick in next month’s draft, Tennessee has plenty of decisions ahead. Coming off a dismal 3-14 season, they have significant gaps to fill. While free agency has provided experienced reinforcements, it remains to be seen whether the Titans will further bolster their offensive line through the draft. One thing is certain Borgonzi is wasting no time in reshaping this unit.
