Top linebacker prospect Anthony Davis has finalized his official visit schedule, with Auburn emerging as a key contender in his recruitment. According to On3’s Chad Simmons, Davis has lined up visits to several SEC powerhouses, including Auburn, Alabama, Texas, Ole Miss, and USC. The highly sought-after defender has already visited these schools unofficially, most recently making a trip to Auburn on January 25.
If Davis commits to the Tigers, he would become Auburn’s third linebacker pledge in the 2026 class, joining four-star prospects Shadarius Toodle and JaMichael Garrett. Standing at 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, Davis plays for Grayson High School in Loganville, Georgia, and is ranked as the No. 18 linebacker in the On3 Industry Rankings.
Davis has also drawn offers from several SEC programs, including Florida, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, LSU, Missouri, and Arkansas. Auburn’s 2026 class is already shaping up as one of the strongest in the nation, highlighted by four-star edge rusher Hezekiah Harris and standout wide receiver Devin Carter. The Tigers currently hold the No. 2 recruiting class in the SEC and No. 4 overall, according to On3 Sports.
Auburn’s aggressive push on the recruiting trail comes on the heels of a disappointing 2023 season. Under head coach Hugh Freeze, the Tigers struggled to a 5-7 finish, missing out on a bowl game. After a promising 2-1 start, Auburn stumbled through conference play, dropping its first four SEC matchups and falling to 2-5. Despite wins over Kentucky, UL Monroe, and Texas A&M, the Tigers’ postseason hopes were dashed with a tough 28-14 loss to Alabama in the “Iron Bowl.”
Now, Auburn is looking to the future, aiming to secure elite talent like Davis to help turn the program around. His decision could be a pivotal one for the Tigers as they continue to build one of the nation’s top recruiting classes.
