Hurricanes Assign Riley Stillman to Chicago Wolves….
Defenseman signed with Carolina as a free agent on July 3, 2024
Eric Tulsky, General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, announced today that the team has assigned defenseman Riley Stillman to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Stillman, 26, missed the first 14 games of the Hurricanes’ season due to a lower-body injury before making his debut with the club on January 28 against the New York Rangers. The Peterborough, Ontario, native has since recorded five points (2 goals, 3 assists) in 15 appearances with the Wolves.
Before joining the Hurricanes organization, Stillman spent the 2023-24 season with the Rochester Americans, where he registered six points (2 goals, 4 assists) and accumulated 49 penalty minutes over 47 games. The 6’2”, 207-pound blueliner signed with Carolina as a free agent on July 3, 2024.
Originally drafted by the Florida Panthers in the fourth round (114th overall) of the 2016 NHL Draft, Stillman has appeared in 159 NHL games throughout his career. He has tallied 26 points (4 goals, 22 assists) while playing for Florida, Chicago, Vancouver, Buffalo, and Carolina. His addition to the Wolves provides the team with an experienced presence on the blue line as he continues to develop his game within the Hurricanes’ system.
