GOOD NEWS: Two Lions Sensational Quarter Backs Join Elite NFL Group After Bears Victory…

Lions QB Jared Goff Joins Elite NFL Group After Bears Victory

Jared Goff added another milestone to his stellar 2024 season on Sunday. Following the Detroit Lions’ commanding 34-17 win over the Chicago Bears, Goff became just the third quarterback in NFL history to achieve a 13-win season with multiple teams. This accomplishment places him in an exclusive group alongside Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.

“Jared Goff is the 3rd QB with a 13+ win season for multiple franchises in NFL history, joining Peyton Manning and Tom Brady,” noted The 33rd Team on X, formerly known as Twitter.

This 13th victory of the season not only highlights the Lions’ incredible year but also sets a new franchise record. Goff, who previously achieved this feat with the Los Angeles Rams in 2018, has emerged as the driving force behind Detroit’s explosive offense.

Stellar Performance Against the Bears

In the win over Chicago, Goff delivered a masterclass, completing 23 of 32 passes for 336 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions. His performance included a remarkable 82-yard touchdown pass to Jameson Williams, who ended the game with five catches for 143 yards and a score.

The Lions’ offense, leading the NFL in scoring, racked up 474 total yards even without injured running back David Montgomery. Rookie Jahmyr Gibbs stepped up, contributing 154 total yards and a touchdown. The Lions also demonstrated their creative play-calling, including a trick play that resulted in a touchdown pass to tight end Sam LaPorta.

Goff feigned a stumble after the snap, simulating a fumble that drew the Bears’ defense out of position. By the time they reacted, Goff found LaPorta wide open for a touchdown.

“Our coaches do a great job identifying tendencies,” LaPorta said after the game. “We noticed their defense reacted strongly to a fumble, so we used that to our advantage.”

Lions Maintain NFC Dominance

With the win, the Lions improved to 13-2, holding onto first place in the NFC and remaining in a close race for the conference’s top seed against the Philadelphia Eagles and Minnesota Vikings.

Despite missing defensive stars like Aidan Hutchinson and Carlton Davis III, Detroit’s defense allowed 382 yards to the Bears. Chicago’s rookie quarterback Caleb Williams delivered a strong performance, throwing for 334 yards and two touchdowns.

While defensive challenges remain, Detroit’s high-powered offense continues to dominate. As the postseason approaches, Goff and the Lions are showcasing championship potential.

By joining Brady and Manning in this rare achievement, Goff has solidified his place in NFL history while leading the Lions on a record-breaking path.
