Colorado’s Two-Word Welcome to Alabama Transfer…
The Colorado Buffaloes, led by Deion Sanders, have been making waves in the NCAA transfer portal, recently adding one of the top defensive talents in the nation. On December 16, Alabama defensive tackle Jahiem Oatis announced he would transfer to Colorado after three seasons in the SEC.
Ranked as the No. 1 defensive lineman and No. 14 overall player in the 247Sports transfer portal rankings, Oatis is a major acquisition for the Buffaloes. To celebrate, Colorado shared an image of Oatis in the team’s black and gold jersey with the tag “Got ‘Em.” Alongside the post, they shared the confident message: “WE HERE.”
During his three years at Alabama, Oatis recorded 1.5 sacks, five pass deflections, and 57 tackles. He decided to enter the transfer portal after redshirting his third season due to injuries. “He’s been battling injuries and hasn’t been able to perform as we hoped,” said Alabama defensive coordinator Kane Wommack on October 7.
As Oatis heads to Boulder, the Buffaloes are gearing up for their Alamo Bowl appearance. They’ll take on the BYU Cougars on December 28 at 7:30 p.m. ET, wrapping up a strong 9-3 season.
