The Toronto Blue Jays revealed three key additions to manager John Schneider’s coaching staff on Monday.
Lou Iannotti will take on the role of assistant hitting coach, Graham Johnson will serve as the bullpen coach, and Sam Greene joins as assistant pitching coach.
Iannotti brings valuable experience from his 2024 season as the hitting coordinator for the World Series-winning Los Angeles Dodgers. Johnson, meanwhile, spent three years as the pitching coach for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, the Triple-A affiliate of the New York Yankees. Greene, who has been with the Jays since 2021, spent last season as a senior pitching research specialist, following a range of roles in research and development.
These new appointments join hitting coach David Popkins, who was added in October, in strengthening Schneider’s staff for the upcoming season.
Returning coaches for the 2024 season include bench coach Don Mattingly, associate manager DeMarlo Hale, pitching coach Pete Walker, first base coach Mark Budzinski, third base coach Carlos Febles, assistant hitting coach Hunter Mense, and mental performance coach John Lannan.
