On Saturday, the Kansas City Royals proudly announced that their beloved lion mascot, Sluggerrr, has officially captured the heart of Major League Baseball.
The team celebrated the honor in a social media post, congratulating Sluggerrr on being named MLB’s Mascot of the Year, declaring, “He wears the crown for a reason.”
Debuting as the Royals’ mascot in 1996, Sluggerrr has been a constant source of joy, energizing fans at every home game and making frequent appearances at community events such as clinics and fundraisers. Over the years, he has become a cherished figure in Kansas City.
While it remains uncertain if this accolade includes a second crown for the regal mascot, the recognition alone is undoubtedly a crowning achievement.
