JUST IN: Oilers Head Coach Issues Scary Updates Regarding Key Players’ Injury Status…

Zach Hyman Injury Update: Misses Third Period in Oilers Game Against Senators…

Zach Hyman was absent during the third period of the Edmonton Oilers’ 5-2 win over the Ottawa Senators after a collision in the second period. Following the game, Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch provided a brief update, noting, “I have no updates. Obviously, it wasn’t good enough to return, and we’ll see how he’s doing tonight. But, right now, no update.”

The incident occurred as Hyman collided with Senators defenseman Nick Jensen while trying to stay onside. Though the hit initially appeared minor, Hyman was visibly shaken and left the game with 13:17 of ice time.

This adds to the Oilers’ growing injury concerns, as they are already missing key players like Darnell Nurse and Viktor Arvidsson. While the team is optimistic that Hyman’s exit was precautionary, his status remains uncertain and will be closely monitored.

A Disappointing End to a Milestone Game

Hyman’s injury overshadowed his 600th NHL game milestone. The forward has had a slower start this season compared to his career-best 54-goal performance in 2023-24, recording just three goals and five assists in 19 games. Despite his low shooting percentage, Hyman is expected to rebound once back in action.

During his absence, Vasily Podkolzin stepped up, filling Hyman’s role on the top line and contributing two assists in the team’s victory.
