JUST IN: Phillies Bryce Harper Takes Home NL Silver Slugger Award for Best First Baseman.

Bryce Harper has earned his fourth career Silver Slugger Award, marking his first time winning the honor as a first baseman.

Harper was among the top three contenders for the National League’s Silver Slugger at first base, competing against Pete Alonso and Freddie Freeman. As a first baseman, Harper led the NL in multiple categories, including hits (154), doubles (41), slugging percentage (.529), and wRC+ (146).

In total, Harper finished the 2024 season with 42 doubles, a .525 slugging percentage, and a 145 wRC+. This is the third time Harper has earned a Silver Slugger during his tenure with the Phillies. He previously won the award as an outfielder in 2021 and as a designated hitter last season.

2024 was another standout year for Harper, who continues to seek a contract extension. According to FanGraphs, his 5.2 WAR in 2024 was the second-highest of his career in Philadelphia, just behind his MVP season three years ago when he posted a 6.6 WAR.
