JUST IN: Mets Star Shortstop Francisco Lindor Clinches 2024 NL Silver Slugger Award.

Francisco Lindor has been awarded the 2024 National League Silver Slugger Award for shortstop, marking his fourth career win and his second consecutive victory with the Mets.

As we predicted when the finalists were revealed, Lindor was a strong contender for the Silver Slugger this year. He posted a 137 wRC+, the highest among National League shortstops. Additionally, he achieved his best wOBA since 2018 (.363), with an xwOBA indicating his performance could have been even stronger. In terms of statistics, he scored 100 runs and was just one stolen base away from a 30-30 season. All of this came despite a rough start in March and April, which makes his overall performance even more impressive.

In short, Lindor was the driving force behind the Mets’ offense. While he won’t be taking home the NL MVP, the Silver Slugger (along with a potential major free agent signing) serves as a solid reward for his outstanding season.
