JUST IN: Florida State Fires Two Coaching Staff Following Historic Loss to Duke…

Florida State head coach Mike Norvell remains confident in his team despite a historic loss to Duke, dropping the Seminoles to 1-6 on the season. The 23-16 defeat marked Florida State’s first-ever loss to Duke after 22 straight victories.

Coming off a season where they were ranked No. 10 in the preseason AP Poll and claimed the ACC title, this downturn has been a tough blow.

After the game, Norvell emphasized his belief in his players, acknowledging the emotional toll but urging them to keep fighting and improve.

“They battled through everything,” Norvell said, noting that the team is hurting and deeply cares about each other and the program’s values.

While the results haven’t met expectations, Norvell expressed optimism about turning the season around, stressing the importance of continuing to lift each other up.

Despite the tough odds, with the team needing a near-perfect run to become bowl-eligible, Norvell remains hopeful.

“I see their character, their toughness, and their determination every day,” he said. “No one wants to be in this position, but we’re going to keep fighting and get better.”
