JUST IN: LeBron James Finally Secures a Historic NBA Contract Deal Amid Intentions to Depart Lakers…

LeBron James has reportedly agreed to a two-year contract extension with the Los Angeles Lakers, as per a source.

James has confirmed his return for his 22nd NBA season, matching the league’s record. This season might see him playing with his son, Bronny, on the same team.

An anonymous source revealed to The Associated Press on Wednesday that James agreed to a two-year contract extension with the Lakers.

The contract includes an option for James to become a free agent next summer. ESPN reported that the deal might be slightly below the maximum salary to maintain roster flexibility for the team.

Despite this, James is expected to earn about $50 million for the upcoming season, pushing his career earnings to approximately $530 million, making him the first NBA player to exceed $500 million in career earnings.

This season will be James’ 22nd, tying the record set by Vince Carter. The Lakers drafted Bronny James in the second round, potentially making them the first father-son duo to play together in NBA history.

On Wednesday, the Lakers announced that Bronny James signed his first NBA contract, a four-year deal worth $7.9 million, with a team option for the final year. Bronny is expected to earn around $1.2 million in his rookie season.
