Last season, Lakers fans were frustrated with Darvin Ham for heavily relying on Taurean Prince, despite the team being outscored by 2.7 points per 100 possessions when Prince was on the court. Despite this, Ham continued to start Prince for 49 games and give him significant minutes. Now, Ham is leaving for Milwaukee to join Doc Rivers’ coaching staff, and Prince is following him, having agreed to a contract with the Bucks, as reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic. Milwaukee had a quiet offseason until recently, securing Prince and also signing Delon Wright, who played for Miami last season, both on veteran minimum deals. Despite Lakers fans’ skepticism, Prince’s signing is viewed positively for the Bucks, expected to play around 20 minutes per game off the bench. Last season, Prince averaged 8.9 points and shot 39.6% from 3-point range, addressing a need for floor spacing that influenced Ham’s decisions. Wright, known for his defensive skills and 36.8% 3-point shooting, could complement Giannis Antetokounmpo and Brook Lopez effectively in clutch moments against top guards. Milwaukee’s strategy seems focused on enhancing their roster depth rather than making splashy moves, aiming for improvement in their second year with Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard as key players.
