Griner, who missed the first 10 games of the season due to a toe fracture, has played nine games since returning, averaging 20.0 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.0 assists, contributing to a 4-1 run in her first five games back.
Allen, after dealing with a series of injuries including a concussion, hip injury, and now a back injury, played against the Indiana Fever last Sunday but missed the game against the Connecticut Sun on Monday. Allen has missed six games this season, with Sophie Cunningham stepping into the starting lineup in her absence. While Natasha Mack started and Liz Dixon backed up when Griner was out, Dixon was recently waived by the Mercury according to the WNBA transactions page.
