News Update: Saint’s Defense Endures Another Setback With Key Player Ruled Out Ahead of Chiefs Encounter.

The Saints’ injury troubles continue as they prepare to face the Chiefs without a key player.

Linebacker Pete Werner has been ruled out for Monday night’s game after New Orleans downgraded his status on Sunday. Werner appeared on the injury report late in the week with a hamstring issue and was limited in Friday’s practice.

This situation is becoming quite unusual for the Saints. Werner is the second player to suffer an injury in practice this week, with Lucas Patrick (groin) also sidelined. Additionally, Chris Olave sustained a hamstring injury in last Friday’s practice. Considering that Friday’s practice is usually just a walkthrough, it’s surprising to see these injuries happening.

Despite the setbacks, the Saints must press on. They expect to have Demario Davis back in the lineup, but they’ll be missing two other starting linebackers, with Willie Gay Jr. also out due to a hand injury. This means that Anfernee Orji and D’Marco Jackson are likely to see more playing time, with rookie Jaylan Ford as another possible option.

The team also downgraded Kendre Miller to doubtful on Sunday, making it unlikely that he will return to action this week.
