Breaking News: Miami Heat Tied to Recently Traded All-Star in Speculated Blockbuster Deal.

The Miami Heat reportedly showed interest in All-Star forward Julius Randle earlier this offseason.

Although Randle was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves in late September, it doesn’t rule out the possibility of another move. At 29, Randle presents challenges for the Wolves’ offense, particularly with his ball-dominant style, and he’s not the same level of floor-spacer as Karl-Anthony Towns. Last season, Randle hit 31.1% of his three-pointers, while Towns shot 41.6%.

Bleacher Report suggests that the Heat could revisit trade talks for Randle if Minnesota is open to moving him. One proposed deal involves sending Randle to Miami in exchange for Nikola Jovic, Terry Rozier, and Thomas Bryant.

“Randle is clearly the best player in this deal,” wrote Andy Bailey of B/R. “That might convince Miami to add some draft assets. But Jovic, at 21, is a young prospect who could fit in well with [Anthony] Edwards and [Rudy] Gobert.”

The Timberwolves are focused on maximizing their championship window, led by Edwards. Jovic fits that strategy, given his strong performance in Miami’s rotation last season, which means the Heat’s president, Pat Riley, may need convincing to let him go.

If Randle joins Miami’s core trio of Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Tyler Herro, they could become a formidable postseason threat.
