Breaking News: The Phoenix Suns Officially Disclose Three New Acquisitions Prior to the Commencement of Training Camp.

The Phoenix Suns have officially announced the addition of three new players, bringing their roster to 20 ahead of the training camp set to start on October 1.

The new players are forward/center Mamadi Diakite, forward/center Frank Kaminsky, and forward Moses Wood. The terms of their contracts have not been disclosed, in line with team policy.

Prior to these signings, the Suns had filled 14 out of 15 standard roster spots and had all three two-way spots occupied. Since the maximum number of offseason contracts a team can hold is 21, these additions are likely training camp contracts, as reported by various sources.

Kaminsky, standing 7 feet tall and weighing 240 pounds, is an eight-year NBA veteran with career averages of 8.8 points and 3.8 rebounds across 413 games played for Houston, Atlanta, Phoenix, and Charlotte. He was part of the Suns’ 2021 Western Conference championship team and spent three seasons with Phoenix from 2019 to 2022. Last season, he played for Partizan in Serbia, participating in 27 ABA League games and 30 EuroLeague games.

Diakite, who is 6 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 228 pounds, has played four seasons in the NBA, appearing in 55 games (six starts) after going undrafted in 2020. Throughout his career, he has been with teams including New York, San Antonio, Cleveland, Oklahoma City, and Milwaukee, where he contributed to the Bucks’ 2021 NBA Championship team under Suns head coach Mike Budenholzer. Originally from Guinea, Diakite averaged 14.4 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks in 18 NBA G League games last season with the Westchester Knicks and the Austin Spurs.

Wood, standing at 6 feet 8 inches and weighing 210 pounds, completed a five-year college career at the University of Washington during the 2023-24 season. He participated in the NBA 2K25 Summer League in July with the Atlanta Hawks. Wood played for Washington, the University of Portland, UNLV, and Tulane, totaling 157 college games with averages of 10.5 points on 44.1% shooting (40.4% from three) and 4.8 rebounds.

Diakite will wear jersey number 25, Kaminsky will wear number 47, and Wood will wear number 17.
