Breaking News: All-Pro Offensive Linemen From New Orleans Saints and Philadelphia Eagles sidelined Due to Injuries

Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro offensive tackle Lane Johnson and New Orleans Saints starting center Erik McCoy will miss their game on Sunday due to injuries—Johnson with a concussion and McCoy with a groin issue.

The Eagles also ruled out wide receiver Britain Covey (shoulder), while guard Mekhi Becton (finger) is questionable to return.

At 34, Johnson is a two-time first-team All-Pro and five-time Pro Bowl player, having started all 146 games since being drafted fourth overall by the Eagles in 2013. He played every offensive snap in the first two games of this season.

Covey, 27, has made seven catches for 34 yards across three games this season, including one catch for 11 yards on Sunday. Since 2022, he has tallied 10 receptions for 65 yards in 35 games with Philadelphia.

McCoy sustained his injury on the third play after the Saints received the opening kickoff. Lucas Patrick moved from left guard to center, with Oli Udoah stepping in at guard.

On that drive, Saints kicker Blake Grupe successfully kicked a 34-yard field goal, giving New Orleans (2-0) a 3-0 lead over Philadelphia (1-1) at halftime.

McCoy, 27, has started all 77 games since the Saints drafted him in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft out of Texas A&M. He played every offensive snap in 2023, earning a Pro Bowl selection, and was named to the NFL All-Rookie Team in 2019. He participated in 95% of the offensive snaps in the first two games this season.
