BREAKING NEWS: Duke Basketball Highlights One ‘Smooth’ Transfer Addition.

It’s safe to say that Duke basketball’s graduate guard, Sion James, has made significant strides since arriving in Durham.

The 21-year-old James, a versatile and committed player, joins Duke as a potential starter after four impressive seasons at Tulane. Standing 6-foot-6 and weighing 220 pounds, he’s honed his skills, particularly from beyond the arc. His three-point shooting has steadily improved, rising from 28% in his freshman year (2020-21) to 38.1% last season on 3.6 attempts per game.

Given James’ history of improvement and a recent workout video shared by Duke basketball, it seems he’s ready to further elevate his shooting accuracy for Jon Scheyer’s team this season.

In the clip, James races down the court, positions himself in the corner, and sinks a catch-and-shoot three-pointer.

During his senior year at Tulane, James recorded career-high averages of 14 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game, shooting 51.4% from the field and 68.3% from the free-throw line. On defense, he tallied over 50 steals for the second consecutive season.

Sion James and the Blue Devils will open their 2024-25 season at home against Maine on November 4 in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
