Baltimore Ravens Signs Top Defence Sensation From Pittsburgh Steelers…
The Ravens are bringing back a familiar face on their defensive line, as Chris Wormley is set to join the team again. According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Wormley worked out with the team on Monday and has agreed to a practice squad deal.
Wormley was originally drafted by the Ravens in 2017 and spent his first three seasons with the team, playing in 39 games and starting 15 of them. His role grew over time, but before the final year of his rookie contract, he was traded to the Steelers.
In Pittsburgh, Wormley had limited action during his first year but earned a two-year contract. He had a breakout 2021 season, starting 14 games and posting a career-high seven sacks. However, his playing time decreased the following year, and he eventually signed with the Panthers as a free agent.
Last season, Wormley played in just five games and logged 46 defensive snaps, leading to his release. Now, with his return to Baltimore, he has the chance to make it back onto the active roster. Although the Ravens’ defensive line remains strong with returning players like Nnamdi Madubuike, Michael Pierce, and others, Wormley will offer valuable veteran depth as he competes for playing time.
