The Braves show that Freddie Freeman remains part of the family with a touching gesture…
During the Los Angeles Dodgers’ visit to Atlanta, former Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman received a heartwarming gift. Although Freeman is now in his third season with the Dodgers, the Atlanta Braves will never forget his lasting impact on the organization.
Freeman’s accolades include eight All-Star selections, three Silver Slugger Awards, a Gold Glove Award, a National League MVP title, and a 2021 World Series championship.
Whenever Freeman returns to Truist Park as a visitor, fans greet him with a standing ovation as a way to thank him for the memories he created.
Ahead of the Dodgers’ four-game series with the Braves on Friday night, which had playoff implications for both teams, Braves manager Brian Snitker and CEO Derek Schiller reminded everyone that some things transcend baseball.
The Braves honored Freeman’s son with a charitable donation.
Freddie Freeman is known for his durability and dedication to playing every game. Over his 15 seasons, he’s missed very few due to injury, but family has always come first for him. Earlier this season, Freeman took time away from baseball due to complications with his three-year-old son, Max, whose health rapidly declined, leading to full-body paralysis.
Max was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome, a rare condition that can result in severe health emergencies. After undergoing various treatments and medical tests, Max is now home and recovering, allowing Freddie to return to the field.
In a show of solidarity, the Braves made a generous donation in Max Freeman’s name to the GBS|CIDP Foundation. This gesture highlights the importance of community and the bonds that remain between Freeman and his former club, despite some lingering feelings about his departure from Atlanta.
