Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill and Robert Griffin III exchanged heated words on social media after Griffin, a former Heisman winner, was fired by ESPN.
The exchange began when Griffin suggested a race between Hill and Olympic pole vaulter Mondo Duplantis, referencing a prior video where Duplantis outran 400-meter hurdle record holder Karsten Warholm in a sprint. Griffin tweeted, “Mondo vs Tyreek Hill would FEED FAMILIES,” tagging both athletes.
Hill, however, took a shot at Griffin, seemingly mocking his ESPN firing by responding with, “ESPN I understand now,” followed by a laughing emoji.

Griffin didn’t take kindly to the jab, firing back with, “Now I see why you got so many kids, everyone needs protection around you.” Hill retorted, saying, “Man brought my family into this.”
Despite the tension, Griffin continued, responding sarcastically: “You brought mine into it too. They impact as well. And I didn’t even say anything bad about you,” accompanied by multiple laughing emojis.
Griffin’s original comment didn’t seem intended to offend Hill, especially since the Dolphins star had recently challenged Olympic gold medalist Noah Lyles to a race. Perhaps Hill felt competing with Duplantis wasn’t worth his time.
Last season, Hill caught 119 passes for a league-best 1,799 yards and scored 13 touchdowns, cementing his place as one of the fastest players in the NFL.
