Breaking News: Carolina Hurricane Top Ranked Forward Handed a Major Role in Finland Ahead of 4 Nations Face-off…

Carolina Hurricanes Forward, Sebastian Aho, Selected by Finland for 4 Nations Face-off

While the NHL is abuzz with the upcoming entry draft and the opening of free agency, another exciting development occurred today: the announcement of the first six players for each team in the 4 Nations Face-Off. Carolina Hurricanes forward Sebastian Aho was named to Finland’s roster.

The tournament, featuring teams from the United States, Canada, Finland, and Sweden, will be held in Boston and Montreal in February 2025. Aho will be joined on the Finnish team by recent Stanley Cup champion Aleksander Barkov. Other Finnish players include Nashville Predators goalie Juuse Saros, Colorado Avalanche forward Mikko Rantanen, and Dallas Stars defenders Esa Lindell and Miro Heiskanen.

Drafted in the second round of the 2015 NHL draft by the Hurricanes, the 26-year-old assistant captain has spent eight seasons in Raleigh, amassing 557 points and nearing 600 NHL games. Last season, Aho achieved a career-high 89 points and matched his career-high with 12 postseason points. Despite the team’s unexpected finish, Aho remains the team’s driving force.

In the summer of 2023, Aho signed an eight-year, $78 million extension with Carolina. He is poised to lead the Hurricanes to a Stanley Cup victory.
