Aaron Gordon Reflects on Bond with Nikola Jokic as Nuggets Eye Redemption
The Denver Nuggets enter the 2025–26 NBA season with renewed ambition and a roster built to contend. Despite last year’s heartbreak—a seven-game Western Conference semifinal loss to the eventual champion Oklahoma City Thunder—Denver remains one of the league’s most formidable forces.
With three-time MVP Nikola Jokic anchoring the lineup, expectations are once again sky-high. The Nuggets are gearing up for training camp with a projected starting five of Jokic, Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon, Cameron Johnson, and Christian Braun—an ensemble blending championship pedigree with fresh firepower.

Gordon on Jokic: “It’s an Experience”
Aaron Gordon, now entering his fifth season with Denver after a 2021 trade from Orlando, recently joined NBA Today to reflect on his partnership with Jokic. His admiration was unmistakable.
“He’s amazing. It’s an experience, you know, to get to play around one of the best players, if not the best player of all time,” Gordon said. “The gravity that he has … he’s shooting a one-legged fadeaway runner and everybody in the gym thinks that’s going in.”
Jokic’s dominance is well-documented: five consecutive top-two MVP finishes and a style of play that continues to redefine the center position. His chemistry with Gordon has already yielded one title in 2023, and the duo remains central to Denver’s championship aspirations.
As the Nuggets reload for another run, Gordon’s praise underscores the rare synergy between star and role player—a dynamic that could once again tilt the balance of power in the West.
