Fredi Bobić Appointed Head of Football Operations at Legia Warsaw…

Warsaw, April 19, 2025 — Legia Warsaw have officially announced the appointment of Fredi Bobić as their new Head of Football Operations, marking a major strategic move for the Polish giants.

The former German international and seasoned Bundesliga executive brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles at Hertha BSC, Eintracht Frankfurt, and VfB Stuttgart. Bobić will oversee Legia’s long-term sporting strategy, including the development of scouting infrastructure and leveraging international networks for future transfers.

“Joining Legia Warsaw is both a great honour and a challenge,” Bobić said in the club’s statement. “I see great potential here—both in the first team and youth squads. My goal is to build structures that ensure regular success in Poland and Europe.”

His arrival is part of a broader restructuring at Legia, which recently appointed Michał Żewłakow as Sporting Director. While Żewłakow will handle squad decisions and coaching staff, Bobić will focus on operational strategy and talent pipelines.

Club president Dariusz Mioduski hailed the appointment, calling Bobić “the most internationally respected figure ever to join Polish club football” and expressing confidence in the duo’s complementary vision.

With Legia aiming to reclaim domestic dominance and push deeper into European competitions, Bobić’s leadership could prove pivotal.
