Győri ETO Impress in Preseason with Victory Over Bačka Topola
Győri ETO FC continued their preseason campaign in impressive fashion, defeating Serbian side FK TSC Bačka Topola 3–1 in a friendly fixture played on July 5. The win comes as a positive follow-up to their earlier 1–1 draw against Czech team SK Artis Brno, showcasing the Hungarian club’s growing form ahead of the 2025–26 season.
In a match characterized by energy and attacking intent, Győri ETO controlled much of the play, with new signings making a noticeable impact. The team struck early, capitalizing on defensive lapses by their Serbian opponents, and maintained composure throughout the encounter to seal a convincing win.
The goals came from a combination of returning players and new arrivals, reflecting the squad’s growing chemistry under head coach Attila Kuttor. The coaching staff appeared satisfied with both the performance and the developing match fitness across the squad.
Just days earlier, Győri ETO held SK Artis Brno to a 1–1 draw, where tactical rotations and experimental formations were evident. That game served as an important opportunity to assess younger players and test different systems.
These preseason results come amid an active transfer window for the club, with key signings like Alexander Abrahamsson, Balázs Megyeri, and Oleksandr Pyshchur bolstering both defense and attack. The management remains focused on building a competitive side capable of challenging in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I (Hungarian top division) and making a mark in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers later this month.
The next test for Győri ETO comes on July 17, when they are set to face Croatian side NK Slaven Belupo in another preseason encounter.
With momentum building and confidence rising, fans of the Green and Whites have every reason to be optimistic as the new season approaches.
