Izundu and Nwora Propel Crvena Zvezda to Epic Overtime Victory in Monaco

MONACO – In what will be remembered as one of the most resilient performances of the 2025–26 EuroLeague season, Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade secured a massive 100–96 overtime victory against AS Monaco on Tuesday night.

The Round 23 clash at Salle Gaston Médecin was a roller-coaster of momentum, ultimately decided by Zvezda’s superior composure in the extra period. The win moves the Serbian giants to a 13–10 record, firmly keeping them in the hunt for a high-seed post-season berth, while Monaco slides to 15–8.

Izundu’s Masterclass

The night belonged to Ebuka Izundu, who delivered a career-defining performance. The big man was immovable in the paint, finishing with a towering double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds.

“It was a little bit stressful for us,” Izundu admitted after the game. “We had the lead and let it slip, but Monaco is a top-four team for a reason. I’m just happy we were able to fight back in overtime. This was vital for our season.”

Clutch Genes: Nwora and Ojeleye

While Izundu provided the muscle, Jordan Nwora provided the dagger. After a back-and-forth fourth quarter that saw Monaco claw back into the game, Nwora took over in overtime. He finished with 18 points, including two cold-blooded three-pointers in the final minutes of the extra period to put the game out of reach.

Semi Ojeleye was equally instrumental, contributing 16 points and providing the defensive versatility needed to slow down Monaco’s potent backcourt.

Bolomboy Makes Emotional Return

Beyond the box score, the most heartening sight for the traveling “Delije” fans was the return of Joel Bolomboy. Coming off a significant injury layoff, Bolomboy’s re-integration into the rotation provided a visible emotional and physical boost to the squad’s interior defense.

Looking Ahead

With this momentum-shifting win under their belts, Crvena Zvezda looks to continue their climb up the standings. The team showed they can not only compete with the league’s elite on the road but can outlast them in high-pressure situations.
