Red Star Faces Complex Negotiations as Zenit Demand €7 Million for Eraković
Red Star Belgrade is navigating a challenging transfer negotiation as Zenit St. Petersburg sets a €7 million asking price for defender Strahinja Eraković — a figure reportedly offered only to the Serbian champions.
According to club director Zvezdan Terzić, other European clubs have been quoted significantly higher sums, ranging from €10 to €12 million.
Terzić acknowledged that the deal is far from straightforward, stressing that Red Star will “wait and see” how the situation develops in the coming days.
Despite the complications, he emphasized that Eraković is eager to return to Belgrade and remains highly regarded as a player with the potential to reach major European leagues.
He also pointed to the broader geopolitical context, noting that the current political climate makes it difficult for Eraković to fully pursue his sporting ambitions while at Zenit.
A move back to Red Star, Terzić suggested, could serve as a strategic step toward re‑entering the Western European football market.
