Jack Hughes Teases Possible Move to Canucks to Join Brother Quinn
Could the Hughes brothers reunite in Vancouver instead of New Jersey?
During the NHL Player Media Tour, New Jersey Devils standout Jack Hughes stirred speculation by expressing his desire to eventually play alongside his brother, Quinn Hughes. While past rumors suggested Quinn might head east to join Jack in New Jersey, Jack’s comments hinted at a different possibility—he might be the one to make the move.
Speaking with Pierre LeBrun of TSN and The Athletic, Jack didn’t shy away from the topic. “This is the headline question, you know?” he said with a grin. “Honestly, I’m not afraid to say it. Yeah, I would love for Quinn to—eventually I’d love to play with him. And whether that’s in New Jersey or at what time that takes, at some point, I want to play with Quinn.”
That subtle “whether that’s in New Jersey or…” line has fans buzzing. Jack still has five years left on his Devils contract, while their younger brother Luke—also with New Jersey—is negotiating a new deal reportedly timed to expire alongside Jack’s. Meanwhile, Quinn has two seasons remaining with the Canucks.
Jack also shared that he and Quinn talk frequently, especially about the idea of teaming up. “They talk all day about it up in Vancouver, you know? But yeah, I’d love to play with Quinn at some point,” he said.
The Canucks, for their part, would be thrilled to find a way to bring all three Hughes brothers together. While Jack’s comments may have been lighthearted, the fact that he’s openly discussing the possibility—and that it’s a regular topic between him and Quinn—suggests this dream scenario might not be so far-fetched after all.
