Darko Churlinov Snubs Legia Warszawa Offer as Burnley Circle

Warsaw, Poland — September 7, 2025

Legia Warszawa’s pursuit of Macedonian winger Darko Churlinov has hit a roadblock, as sources close to the club confirm the player has rejected their initial offer. The 25-year-old, currently contracted to Burnley FC, was seen as a key target to bolster Legia’s attacking options ahead of the Europa Conference League group stage.

Churlinov, who impressed during his loan spell at Schalke and later returned to Burnley, is reportedly weighing his options carefully. While Legia’s proposal included a competitive salary and guaranteed playing time, insiders suggest the winger is holding out for a move that aligns more closely with his long-term ambitions.

“Legia made a serious approach, but Churlinov is exploring other opportunities,” said a source familiar with the negotiations.

Burnley, meanwhile, remains in the mix. The Championship side is believed to be considering reintegrating Churlinov into their squad following recent injuries to key players. However, a loan move or permanent transfer could still be on the table if the right offer comes in.

Legia Warszawa, who recently secured a 2–1 away win in the Europa Conference League playoffs, may now turn their attention to alternative targets, including Élie Youan of Hibernian and Ermal Krasniqi from Sparta Praga.

With the transfer window closing soon, both clubs and the player will need to make swift decisions. For now, Churlinov’s future remains one of the more intriguing subplots of the late summer market.
