Anthony Edwards’ Statement on Nikola Jokic Goes Viral After Nuggets-Timberwolves Clash…

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards had high praise for Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic following an unforgettable game.

Tuesday night’s matchup between the Nuggets and Timberwolves may have been the game of the season.

In a thrilling double-overtime showdown, Minnesota edged out Denver 140-139. While both teams delivered spectacular performances, the individual displays from their respective superstars stole the show. Edwards finished with 34 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists, dominating the fourth quarter and both overtime periods. However, even his impressive stat line was overshadowed.

Despite the loss, three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic delivered a historic performance, recording 61 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. He shot 18-29 from the field, 6-11 from three-point range, and 19-24 from the free-throw line, making it one of the most remarkable triple-doubles in NBA history.

After the game, Edwards shared a statement about Jokic that quickly went viral, amassing over three million views on social media.

“That might have been the best game I’ve ever been a part of,” Edwards said. “Nikola Jokic, bruh. My God. He might be the best basketball player I’ve ever seen up close—besides myself, of course. He’s incredible, bruh.”

Edwards took over in the fourth quarter and overtime, scoring 24 of his 34 points in that stretch to lead Minnesota to a crucial victory. The rising star has solidified his place among the NBA’s elite, yet he was still in awe of Jokic’s record-breaking performance.

Jokic is nearly averaging a 30-point triple-double this season while shooting an efficient 57/41/80, making this potentially the greatest statistical non-MVP season in league history.

Lou Williams Criticizes Russell Westbrook’s Late-Game Mistakes in Nuggets’ Loss…

Former NBA player Lou Williams had harsh words for Russell Westbrook following Denver’s heartbreaking loss to Minnesota.

Even though Jokic recorded a historic 61-point triple-double, the Nuggets fell in double overtime, with many blaming Westbrook for the outcome.

Westbrook made two crucial errors in the final moments. First, after a Timberwolves turnover with 15 seconds remaining, he rushed down the court for a layup attempt but missed, giving Minnesota another possession with 11 seconds left.

On the other end, Westbrook closed out on Nickeil Alexander-Walker’s last-second three-point attempt. The shot missed, but Westbrook was called for a shooting foul, sending Alexander-Walker to the line, where he sank two of three free throws to win the game.

Following the loss, Williams didn’t hold back in his critique, calling Westbrook’s decisions “boneheaded” on FanDuel’s ‘Run It Back’ show.

“Do you remember compound mistakes? Don’t make compound mistakes,” Williams said. “When you do one bonehead thing, then try to fix it and make another bonehead play—that’s exactly what Westbrook did. He’s a veteran, he’s a winner, but in that moment, he needed to have the awareness to hold onto the ball and get fouled instead of rushing a shot. Then, on the defensive end, he left his man wide open for three and fouled him.”

While Westbrook’s decision to attack the basket made some sense—it could have extended Denver’s lead to three—it might have been wiser to slow the game down, reset, or call a timeout. His defensive lapse on Minnesota’s final possession also hurt the Nuggets, as he lost focus while watching Edwards drive to the rim, forcing him into a late closeout on Alexander-Walker.

With this loss, the Nuggets fell to 47-29, now two games behind the second-place Houston Rockets in the Western Conference standings. Meanwhile, the Timberwolves remain in the playoff race, tied for sixth place with the Memphis Grizzlies.
