South Carolina Women’s Basketball to Face Texas in Final Four
The South Carolina Gamecocks women’s basketball team is set to clash with the Texas Longhorns in the NCAA Women’s Tournament Final Four.
Texas secured its spot after a 58-47 victory over TCU in Birmingham, Alabama, marking the Longhorns’ first Final Four appearance since 2003 and their fourth overall trip to the NCAA semifinals.
The two teams have already faced off three times this season, with South Carolina winning two of those matchups. They met twice during the regular season and once in the SEC Tournament.
The Gamecocks claimed the first showdown on January 12 with a 67-50 home victory, but Texas responded a month later with a narrow 66-62 win. The teams’ most recent encounter came in the SEC Tournament championship, where South Carolina dominated with a decisive 64-45 victory, securing the program’s ninth SEC title.
Now, the Gamecocks and Longhorns will meet for a fourth time in the Final Four, with the highly anticipated matchup set for Friday, April 4, at 7 p.m. at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.
