BREAKING NEWS: Raiders Add Veteran Depth Sign Defensive Tackle After Injury-Plagued 2024 Season to Strengthen Defensive Line…

Raiders Sign DL Leki Fotu…

The Las Vegas Raiders have bolstered their defensive line with a veteran addition. As reported by Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the team has signed defensive tackle Leki Fotu.

Fotu’s 2024 season was largely derailed by injuries. After joining the Jets last offseason, he started the year on injured reserve due to a hamstring issue. He was activated in October and appeared in two games (starting one), but a knee injury quickly sidelined him again, landing him back on injured reserve.

Before his brief stint in New York, Fotu was a dependable presence on the Cardinals’ defensive front. The former fourth-round pick spent four seasons in Arizona, playing in 56 games and starting 21 of them. He was a key contributor in 2022 and 2023, starting 18 games and recording career highs in sacks (2.5) and tackles for loss (five) during the latter season.

In Las Vegas, Fotu will join an already solid defensive line. Christian Wilkins, who signed a $110 million deal last offseason, was limited to five games in 2024 but is expected to lead the group alongside Jonah Laulu, who took on a larger role late in the season. Adam Butler, who played the most snaps at the position last year, is also returning.

With John Jenkins still unsigned, Fotu could have an opportunity to secure a spot on the depth chart. He will likely compete with Matthew Butler, Zach Carter, and Tyler Manoa for playing time.
