Nuggets’ Expected Decision on Nikola Jokic After Three Missed Games
The Denver Nuggets are enduring one of their toughest stretches of the season, having lost three of their last four games. Injuries have played a role in their struggles, with guard Jamal Murray missing two games due to a right ankle sprain before returning in Denver’s 128-109 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday. Meanwhile, Nikola Jokic has been sidelined for three consecutive games as he recovers from a left ankle impingement.
As the Nuggets prepare to face the Houston Rockets on Sunday, they aim to get back on track. Despite having a relatively healthy roster, Mile High Sports’ Ryan Blackburn has reported that Jokic will remain out, marking his fourth straight missed game. “Jokic out tomorrow. Not really surprised. The Nuggets are playing it cautiously now that they know they have zero margin for error,” Blackburn noted.
Although Jokic will be unavailable, Denver should have most of its key players on the court, including Murray, Aaron Gordon (right calf injury), and Christian Braun (left foot strain), all listed as probable. Houston’s injury report is also light, with rookie Reed Sheppard being the only player ruled out.
Despite their recent struggles, the Nuggets hold a 44-27 record and currently sit in fourth place in the Western Conference with 11 games left in the regular season. After facing the Rockets, Denver will return home for a five-game homestand, beginning with a matchup against the Chicago Bulls on Monday.
