NC State Football Secures First Official Visit from Carmelo McKenzie…
Rising Florida prospect Carmelo McKenzie has set his first official visit, and NC State football is the destination.
The IMG Academy (Fla.) defensive tackle, who received an offer from NC State in late October, recently announced that he will visit the Wolfpack for a three-day trip starting May 30.
Standing at 6-foot-3 and 290 pounds, McKenzie has been gaining attention as one of the top junior recruits in the nation, now holding more than a dozen scholarship offers. Following his visit to Raleigh, he plans to head to Boston College the next weekend for another official visit.
According to the On3 Industry Rankings, McKenzie is currently ranked No. 1,030 overall in the 2026 recruiting class, No. 93 among defensive linemen, and No. 126 in Florida.
Meanwhile, NC State’s 2026 recruiting class includes four three-star commitments: safety Koby Sarkodie (Milford Mill Academy, Md.), linebacker Jordan Moreta (Paramus Catholic High School, N.J.), offensive tackle Brady Sakowitz (Trinity Episcopal School, Va.), and quarterback Jacob Smith (Reagan High School, N.C.).
