Bo Davis on Leaving LSU for the Saints, Praises Kyle Williams
A few weeks ago, LSU defensive line coach Bo Davis made the decision to depart from the Tigers and take on the same role with the New Orleans Saints. Speaking publicly for the first time since the move, Davis explained his reasoning for the switch and shared his thoughts on his LSU successor, Kyle Williams.
“It was an opportunity that came up, and I felt it was a great fit for me and my family,” Davis said. “I love LSU, but this was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up, especially since it wasn’t far from there.”
Davis also spoke highly of Williams, who played 13 seasons in the NFL before coaching at the high school level and now stepping into his first collegiate coaching role. Davis, who previously coached Williams during his playing days at LSU, expressed confidence in his abilities.
“I think LSU is getting a great person and coach,” Davis said. “His experience and knowledge of the game will be incredible for those young men.”
Davis, regarded as one of the top defensive line coaches in the country, was earning $1.2 million annually at LSU. Now, the Saints are bringing him in to help strengthen their defensive front.
