Vatican Shares Latest Update on Pope Francis’ Health
Pope Francis, who has been receiving treatment for a severe lung infection at Gemelli Hospital in Rome since mid-month, spent a night in the hospital without any further complications, the Vatican reported on Wednesday morning.
A spokesperson stated that the 88-year-old pontiff had a “peaceful night” and is currently resting. This hospital stay marks the longest of his papacy.
On Tuesday evening, the Vatican released a health bulletin confirming that while the Pope’s condition remains serious, it is stable. He has not experienced further breathlessness since the weekend, and his blood values are steady.
Meanwhile, prayers for Pope Francis continue worldwide, with a rosary being recited for him in St. Peter’s Square on Tuesday evening.
