While Auburn basketball may be stealing the spotlight, Tiger football is far from taking a backseat. Head coach Hugh Freeze is grinding on the recruiting trail, and despite some ups and downs, he’s locked in a crucial official visit with a highly sought-after four-star recruit.
J’Vari Flowers, a dynamic cornerback in the 2025 class, has set his official visits with his top six schools Auburn, Florida, Georgia, UNC, Syracuse, and Miami. His visit to Auburn is scheduled for March 6, just weeks before the Tigers kick off spring practice.

Auburn’s 2026 recruiting class is already shaping up impressively, boasting six hard commits including four four-star prospects. Landing Flowers would further solidify their defensive future, giving the Tigers a formidable fifth four-star recruit.
But Freeze faces stiff competition. SEC powerhouses Georgia and Florida are aggressively pursuing Flowers, while UNC and Syracuse add northern interest. Miami, Flowers’ hometown program, is also making a strong push to keep the talented CB close to home.
Ranked as the No. 41 cornerback in the class and the No. 42 overall player in Florida, Flowers will announce his college decision on March 31 just a week after his final visit. However, as with all recruiting battles, a commitment doesn’t mean the race is over. Schools can still attempt to flip him, and Flowers retains the option to take additional visits even after his decision.
For Freeze, securing Flowers would be a massive win, strengthening Auburn’s secondary and proving the Tigers can go toe-to-toe with the nation’s top programs. With elite talent like Flowers, Auburn’s defense could be in for a game-changing future.
