JUST IN: Former Texans Offensive Coordinator Joins Forces with a Key Ally, Uniting for a Bold, High-Impact Strategy That’s Set to Shake Up the NFL.

When DeMeco Ryans was appointed head coach of the Houston Texans in 2023, he brought Bobby Slowik along to take on the offensive coordinator role. Their strong connection from their time together with the San Francisco 49ers led to Slowik being entrusted with full control of the Texans’ offense. The duo’s collaboration paid off in their first season, but the offense struggled in 2024, ultimately resulting in Slowik’s dismissal.

In response, the Texans hired Nick Caley, a former assistant under Sean McVay with the Los Angeles Rams, to revamp the offense. As for Slowik, he quickly landed a new role as the Miami Dolphins’ passing game coordinator.

The Dolphins, coached by Mike McDaniel, share a deep connection with Slowik, as McDaniel also has roots in San Francisco. McDaniel worked as the 49ers’ run game coordinator before becoming offensive coordinator in 2021. He took the head coaching job in Miami in 2022 and has since posted a 28-23 record. Slowik and McDaniel’s paths crossed throughout their time in San Francisco, where Slowik served as an offensive assistant (2019-2020) and offensive pass game specialist in 2021 before becoming a pass game coordinator in 2022.

Their bond goes even further back to their time together on the Washington staff from 2011 to 2013, alongside other notable coaches like Sean McVay, Kyle Shanahan, Matt LaFleur, and Mike Shanahan.
