RCB Signs Sneh Rana as Replacement for Injured Shreyanka Patil for WPL 2025…
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have announced Sneh Rana as the official replacement for injured all-rounder Shreyanka Patil for the remainder of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025. Rana, who previously played for Gujarat Giants (GG), joins RCB for INR 30 lakh.
As reported by CricketNext, Shreyanka Patil suffered an injury before the WPL began and was unable to recover in time. The league confirmed her unavailability and named Rana as her replacement in an official statement on Saturday.
“Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Saturday picked Sneh Rana as a replacement for Shreyanka Patil for the remainder of the TATA Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025,” the statement read.
Patil, a key player for RCB, has played 15 matches in the WPL, taking 19 wickets. Her absence is a setback for the franchise, but the inclusion of experienced all-rounder Sneh Rana will strengthen their squad.
RCB’s Electrifying Start to WPL 2025
RCB began their WPL 2025 campaign with a record-breaking victory against Gujarat Giants. The Bengaluru-based franchise chased down a massive 202-run target—the first-ever successful 200+ run chase in WPL history.
Wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh played a sensational knock of 64 off 27 balls, while Ellyse Perry contributed 57 off 34 deliveries. Their remarkable effort overshadowed an all-round masterclass from Giants’ captain Ashleigh Gardner, who smashed 79 off 37 balls and dismissed both RCB openers in her first over.
Despite Gardner’s heroics, RCB’s dominant batting display ensured they secured a winning start to the season. With Rana now in the squad, RCB will look to maintain their momentum in the tournament.
