During a media session on Friday, Marcus Stroman made his stance crystal clear he sees himself as a starting pitcher and has no intention of transitioning to the bullpen.
When asked about Stroman’s firm declaration, New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone appeared unfazed, emphasizing that it’s still early in the season.
“Well, first of all, Happy Valentine’s Day. It’s February 14,” Boone quipped, via Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. “You’re getting way ahead of this. We’re preparing him as a starter, and we’ll handle any adjustments if necessary when the time comes.”
Stroman’s name has surfaced in trade speculation, but for now, the Yankees seem set on keeping him through 2025. The lingering question remains will he continue as a starter?
“I’m a starter,” Stroman reiterated emphatically, via Yankees Videos. “I won’t pitch in the bullpen. I’m a starter. I’m a starter.”
