Last month, ESPN reported that Los Angeles Chargers pass-rusher Khalil Mack has decided to return for his 12th NFL season in 2025 after previously being undecided. Now that his return is certain, speculation is brewing—could Mack make his way back to where it all started?
Mack, who turns 34 next month, is set to become a free agent for the first time in his career. This means the Las Vegas Raiders have a rare opportunity to bring him back. Originally drafted fifth overall by the Raiders in 2014, Mack quickly emerged as a dominant force, earning NFL Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2016.
However, his tenure with the Raiders ended abruptly in 2018 when a contract dispute under new head coach Jon Gruden led to a trade to the Chicago Bears just before the season began. With Gruden no longer in the picture, could Mack be open to a return?
